Default Just a heads up

I will be taking my daughter to the Tent Rocks National Monument tomorrow for a Girlscout hike. I will be taking along the trust FZ35 to try and capture some of it. More to come

Greg, you are a champion. Looking forward to some more great photos!

Just a request, would you try the HDR Scene mode if you get a chance? There is no scenery like you have anywhere near me, and I'd like to see what results it gives.

I will do my best. Supposed to be sunny, and the Tent Rocks are mostly light beige to off white, so the glare is going to be immense. I will dial down the exposure and hope for the best

I saw your last set - they were very impressive under the conditions you were shooting. Have you considered using the Intelligent Exposure function under the P mode? It has 3 settings, and is supposed to preserve highlights and shadows.

Man, was it BRIGHT out today! I have a few photos from our trip. I havent messed with them except to do some auto contrast in Picassa. I have some from the Scene Mode (HDR), but I was not that impressed. Greg, I will post those next, probably tonight.

greg2-

Thanks for posting a nice selection of very good looking photos. The minus exposure compensation worked well. Nicely done.

when you posted did you down size to under 250k, the shots look a bit soft, and I know the board compress down some shots on other thread that cause them to look soft.

I don't understand why this limitation exists at Steve's. DPR and nearly every other forum allows full sized uploads. 1024x768 with hellish compression is a bit 2005. I mean, this site exists to share photos, so reducing their quality to do so is a bit of a mystery to me. Its about the one thing about Steve's that disappoints.

photobucket seems the best option, then link it. I am considering that route.
