With LT-55 attached to Camera:

18 (12Mp) X 1.7x X 27mm = 826mm
22 (8Mp) X 1.7x X 27mm = 1010
28.1 (5Mp) X 1.7x X 27mm = 1290mm
35.2 (3Mp) X 1.7x X 27mm = 1616mm

The Digital Zoom at 35Mp goes up to 140x so it is equivalent to 6400mm Lens of course the definition is terrible...

Lowest setting is: 9 X 1.7x X 27mm = 413mm

8" OAL of Camera with LT-55 attached...it adds 4-1/4" to the Camera and the Camera is 3-3/4" Wide..

It fits in the M-Rock Applachian 650 Bag perfectly with the LT-55 attached...

I like this quick Click for the top so you can buckle it while hiking or climbing and get it out quick for a shot compared to the Zippers on the Think tank that make a lot of noise and are a hassle at times...

If you take the LT-55 off with the Adapter attached which is what I do most of the time the Think Tank Lens Changer 15 is on the belt to hold it...

These are just some ideas...I have to be honest I use what is convenient and quick to grab, and functional easy in easy out...I ditch the rain protectors at home, this will probably come back to haunt me sooner or later....

I was looking at the M-Rock Glacier and Grand Canyon so I could carry what I currently have also. Extra batteries, charger, hood, etc

Good idea...I carry the Think Tank Accessory Bag also for extra's as it is also designed for the Think Tank Belt...I like be able to remove items from the belt to add as much or as little as I want depending upon hiking/biking conditions and length of hike or climb...They bags look big but they are extremely well padded even if I dropped my M-Rock with the FZ and LT-55 in it I wouldn't think twice about it...they're are that well padded to my surprise...

I don't use them, but the Shoulder Straps that come with the M-Rock Bags are really well made...I was wondering why it was so expensive...well thought out details and every possible hook up you can imagine...nothing cheap about it...you get what you pay for...

Back to the drawing board - I ordered a LT-55 from New World Video - they emailed me and stated the the LT-55 would have to be back ordered (6 or more weeks) and wanted to know if I'd like the Hila lens ($299) no thanks! A bit too much for my pocketbook. I've also read good reports on the Olympus TCON-17. Also much cheaper than the LT-55.
It seems I could get the TCON17 for half the price of the Panasonic LT-55.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Clint, all I do know is that I have never seen a negative "report" on the TCON-17.
Because it is light & reasonably priced, seems to be the most popular TC for FZ users.
Regards

You can buy the Hila Lens for $99 off Amazon...New World Video are Bait & Switch Scammers thats why they post the LT-55 so cheap to get you baited to order from them then they pull the ole switcheroo...

I would definitely go for the TCON 1.7 or the Nikon E15ED (1.5x) as you can get the Nikon with the ED Glass (extra low dispersion glass, which is used to help reduce chromatic abbarations)

The Nikon E15ED is available from Amazon...or PCMonde
