Default My First attempts

My first attempts were not that good. Question. In IA mode the words
"AF TRacking" appears on the right hand lower side of the lcd. Is this normal? It is not the af/ae lock button. My first flower shots were not in focus, the ground below it were in focus. Not tried anything else yet. Printed out the manual ( 219 pages). Reading it now.

Mine shows the "AF tracking" as well.

as far as your first flower shots you may have been too close to the subject for it to focus. The ground may have been the nearest thing it could focus on. As soon as you start zooming in you have to back away a little bit for it to focus. Try that and see if it helps.

What focus setting are you on?
The Bird picture was shot in "P" mode with spot metering and focus. The others were all shot in "IA" mode and the camera decides what focusing to use.

Here are some from todays trip to the valley. All pictures were hand held(and I just had shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago!). The O.I.S. on this camera is incredible!!!! I have never bought a camera without checking it out in the store first, but thanks to all the reviews and websites like this. I was able to pull the trigger on it and am very happy I did!.

Had to use digital zoom at about 60x to get this shot. Used Shutter Priority at 1/250 and spot meter and focus.

Here is a shot before they met up together in the first pic. This was taken at 18x zoom with a little cropping done in Gimp.

Here is a Blue Heron checking her nest.

Here is my first try using the art mode HDR

You can check out the exif data on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/

Default How do i ?????

Cannot tell you how much help you guys ( and Gals) have been to me. One question please, my first attempts are in Picasa, how do I send them to this site? I must say the more I read the manual the more it makes sense.
