Default New Camera Arrived Today FT2 / TS2

I'm excited the courier dropped this off at 2pm today, there is only one problem, the camera arrived to my parents in the UK and I have to wait a week and a half to get my hands on it

Dad is going to check there are no problems, send me some samples etc and then will bring it over when they come for the wedding. I can't wait to enter the world of underwater photography, as well as not having to worry about where I take the camera or what I do with it. Going to be a fun toy to have.

For those wondering the most important thing, I went for the orange........ honestly this was the hardest part of the decision process, I settled on which camera quite easily but choosing a colour was a different matter.

Will post some photos when I get my hands on it. Planning to get to a swimming pool pretty early on to give it a real play.

Now I'm counting down for 2 things, 1 is my wedding day (less than a month) and the second is getting my hands on the camera when my parents arrive. Is it bad to be more excited about getting the camera than seeing my parents???? LOL kidding.............

Am interested to hear your opinion of this camera once you have had the time to experiment with it. It's not a "big seller" so rather unknown.... besides coming with the ability to survive a 2m drop.....at -10 degrees - Congratulations on the upcoming wedding.
Regards

Yeah, but no one would have known as that was on messenger LOL, now I look really bad and put photography as high on my list as getting married........ Hoping this thread is not read by my fiancee

I got dad to send me some photos from it for me to see the performance and it looks better than my Panasonic TZ5 and with more pixels so that's a good start. Also it seems to have survived it's first dunking in the sink for a test so that's good to know.

I will give it a serious test in a week and a half.... obviously I won't be busy with anything else, it's all about photography remember..... then I will post some thoughts.

Speaking of the music thread, not see anything from you in there yet!!!!

It's a bit new yet so people are still getting their hands on them, but videos are not appearing on youtube and there are about 5 or 6 reviews. The FT1/TS1 sold well and was recognised as one of the better UW cameras in this size without going really specialist, especially with the HD video, so after the improvements the FT2/TS2 seems to me like a winner. At first I wanted to go for the Pentax W90, but boy does it have a noise issue so that was out. Then the Sony but that wasn't for me, neither the Casio although the design is very cool, so the Panny has it.

I'm really just looking forward to a whole new world of photography opening up, it will be different as I won't be thinking of composition as much due to the alien world that I will be in, just having fun and shooting things that I never have before. Also the fun when we go to the pool and the beach with friends etc, it will be great.

Thanks Sarah, will be nice to see the parents after being away from the UK for 4 months, and other friends will be coming out for the wedding a week or so after so that will be amazing to have my English friends around for a bit.

These are going to be good times.... the next decision is what other camera goes with me on the honeymoon..... the 5DmkII or 7D and the Canon 24-105 or Sigma 17-70.... I will put a fast prime and flash in as well.

Should do, we are honeymooning in the Red Sea so looking forward to clear waters.

I had the same thought about dropping it..... just don't want to do it in 11m of water LOL.
