Default Just recieved Panasonic FZ35.

I bought this camera from Amazon. When it arrived there was no seal to show whether this camera had been opened before. Is this normal? The camera was in a protective bag inside but it was not sealed either. Any help with this would be appreicated.

Living down under we don't have the returned camera issues you do in the states. However as a very general rule of thumb, look for 2 things:

1 - Take a photo - what is its file number in the camera?
2 - It's pretty easy to spot a re-wrapped power cord. They are almost perfect from factory with the little black twist tie.

Hope that helps (a little)

Good luck

I purchased my camera new from B&H a few weeks ago. The box was not sealed and neither was the protective bag inside (white foamy type bag like an envelope with the #4 and LDPE on it). The packaging, cords, and manuals were pristine. The battery took about two hours for a full charge. I had to go through set-up when I turned it on for the first time, and the first photo was #1.

Hope this helps.

I got mine also from Amazon and while the box itself does not have a tap to seal, all accessories where in their plastic bags "sealed" with a grayish paper tape.
The bag the camera is in is not sealed at all, just folded like an envelope.

1) This first photo was 100-0001.
2) This camera comes with a wall battery charger so there is no power cord.

All other things were sealed so I suspect it is new. I just wanted to ensure that the box was not supposed to be sealed. Thanks for everyone's input.
