Hey mate, how are you. Sorry this forum is a little quiet over the weekend. Usually you'd get a flood of welcome messages! :-)

I like all your photos, especially the last one of you and your brother. The one of the Rose is out of focus, did you use the iA or Macro mode for this one?

Good on you for having a go. Keep asking questions, you will get a lot of help here. If no one responds, you can ask one of the moderators directly, their link is at the bottom of the page.

Read the manual, this is essential to get the best out of the camera.

Forget manual focus, you will never beat the camera for this.

If you have a particular question, first try using the search function at the top of the forum. It is very likely that your question has been answered before.

Cheers :-)

Amen to manual focus. I tried it once or twice and hated it. The camera does an excellent job on focusing. Especially if you use "spot" focusing.

Doggie and Rose look a bit out of focus but the rest look good.

I usually shoot in the P mode.

When I'm in a hurry (or doing stunt shots while riding my bike) I put it in the IA mode.

The dog and the rose look as if they were taken inside and the camera can not focus easily when it doesn't have enough light to "see" just like us...and if it does focus then it probably gave a very long shutter opening/exposure so it could get enough light inside to make a good picture while this looonnng shutter opening was happening you probably shook/moved the camera ever so slightly blurring the picture...so indoors and when a slow slow shutter speed is selected by the camera you will be required to remain steadier than when outdoors in the sunlight...

i know the new software and stuff isnt comparable to the software of my old R.I.P konica minolta.
but the fear that the auto messes things up is something i dont want to experience again:P
and
@LT yes the pic of the rose and doggie where inside in a dark big room
