cool, yeah, I have brought open box form amazon. They are conservative on their rating. Sometime they say slight blemish, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Yes, I have had the same experience. But, for an extra $16 I'd go for a brand new unit. Now, if they do not drop the price, then I'll take the open box.

Understand, I'd agree with that too. FYI, I was talking to a guy at DPR a few weeks ago that bought a condition 9 ZS3 from B&H, and he said it was brand new, just opened box, as you say.

Ah well, as least there's options for you! Not much good to us Aussies, cause the B&H P&H is mental, like $100 or something. I got a leather Panasonic case with metal logo for Mum's FS7 for $8 delivered from Honk Kong a while back...

Have a good one
Greg :-)

New member here. Canon shooter who just purchased a ZR1 from Costco for $169. Tried and returned a Canon 780 and so far enjoying the ZR1. Have some great photos and some duds. Good photos tell me the camera is ok, duds often say something about the photographer. Better video and portability are my goals. Thought about the ZS7 but didn't want to spend that much. Look forward to learning more about and using the ZR1 as I don't want to always carry my DSLR (Canon XSi).

quartz-

The softness of the #1 photo was due to camera movement, not a camera fault. Avoid one handed shots and pay attention to keeping the camera motionless. You can download Picasa from www.google.com for FREE.

it is a very easy to use photo editing program and is widely used.
