Great shots. I wonder if the ZS3 is better than the ZS7, or putting in a slightly different way, if it produces better images due to its lower MP count (since the sensor size is the same).

Thanks and thanks for looking. Don't know. I don't have the 7 but I can tell you this, the 3 is very impressive! I really like it and I'm not one to like many cameras without a viewfinder and manual controls.

The biggest difference is the ZS7 has POWER OIS and the ZS3 has MEGA OIS...POWER OIS has approx double the stabilisation as MEGA OIS...I got the same results with both cameras though...I couldn't tell the difference to be honest...I liked the GPS as the shots we take on our travels will be marked for the future....

It could be that the POWER OIS really shows up in Video Mode...handy to have, but we have a dedicated video camera...

Personally, I think the biggest difference is the lack of manual modes (P/A/S/M) on the ZS3, since I'm not an iAUTO type of person. I haven't seen any good comparison between the 2 OIS types so I can't tell whether that's a biggie or not.

Also the AF is MUCH more stable and fast in the ZS7 (also used in the FZ35)(most evident in videos)

Very good point Tullio, that is a big difference also, but that ZS3 can hold it's own when it comes to sharp pictures!!!

I believe that from all the images I've seen from it. The thing is, with cameras such as the ZS3, the photographer is always at the mercy of the camera with very (or no) room for creativity when it comes to obtaining a different effects (i.e., shallower DoF, the cottony effect on water, etc.).

polidore-

Make a trip to Costco and take a good look at the ZS6, it has the features of the ZS7 without the GPS and AVCHD format movie. At around $280.00 is is a good buy.
