Thanks, guys. The ZS3 is probably the most impressive P&S I've seen in a while! While I had the Fujifilm F70EXR, I just couldn't "like" it even though it was a fine camera. This one is a whole new ballgame.

I know this topic has been covered ad nauseum, but I can't seem to find your specific reasons for choosing the ZS7 over the HX5v. I have the latter unopened, but I feel like the ZS7 is getting more and more loved around the internet in comparison. Your macros are incredible and I definitely enjoy experimenting with that. However, it will also be my all purpose camera. I can live without fast burst mode and panorama even though they are very neat if the picture quality is distinctly better. I feel like the Sony real life samples aren't as good to my eye as the ZS7 almost exclusively, but I also get the feeling the Panasonic owners are more experienced... could just be my small sample, but that's the feeling I got. The video modes for me are a wash.. 720p vs 1080i isn't important to me and the res bump vs better colors/quality of the zs7 (to my eyes) is a wash. Final thought is lowlight. I love the idea of HHT mode, but how low light are we talking? If I'm at a restaraunt and snap a few pics are either of them going to be that great anyway? Manual controls of the panny are neat since I'd like to experiment a bit with that, but only if they are useful. Basically I'm killing myself over this and I leave for Mexico Saturday. Sorry for the immense message, but based on this breakdown which do you think is better for me? I know neither is perfect, but my thoughts are basically... low light is great but only if the Sony takes pictures that I'm going to be happy with all the time too...

Thank you.
Gee. Thanks for the unabashed hijack. Great for your first post. Welcome to the forums... glad you're here.
