Default I picked up a tripod for my FZ35....

I am so excited about my purchase I thought I would share with my Lumix peeps. I just got my FZ35 and I was looking for a new tripod. I wanted something decent but not too expensive. I did not want to spend over $50 and was very disapointed in what I was finding for that price. I decided I was going to get a Slik U9000 when I stumbled on an Ebay auction that no one was bidding on, for a Slik 1000. I looked at the auction and it turns out to be an AF1000 which is just a Slik U-212 that came with the pistol grip head from the factory. I ended up winning the auction for $33, It showed up in original box and appears to have never been used! To buy a U-212 and add that head it would cost over $220! Its a little overkill for an FZ35 but at least I will be ready if I ever make the jump to a DSLR! This is one beast of a tripod and of course it doesn't even know the FZ35 is attached. LOL

You'd have issues taking that through customs at any airport!! Lovely tripod, but superb price!! Did it come with the head?

Yes it came just as you see it in the picture(the quick connect is on the camera though). Is what is cool is you can mount the head on one of the legs or on the bottom of the elevator rod for low level shots. The legs are also individually adjustable and will fold out 90 degrees.

I got a highly rated tripod that was low cost from BH and am highly disappointed as it doesn't move smooth enough for quick adjustments when subjects reposition themselves.

Sometime your camera and spotting scope is only as good as the tripod it is on.

Great decision on getting that tripod Joe

I second that. I've been hunting Ebay for something decent that won't break the bank (can't believe the good deal Joe got, that's the price range/quality I'm looking for).
