Default fz38, battery question.

Does anybody know if leaving the camera in 'stand by' mode (button:ON + power save mode 2min) is very power consuming or not?
It would be nice to have the camera 'almost ready' for the next picture, when you go out!

Yes, it is drawing current, but the draw is minimal.

I've accidentally left mine in the "stand-by" mode for a over a day. It didn't drain very much as far as I could tell. You'd probably save more battery by turning it off (not sure). Comparing the speed of coming out of the power save mode as opposed to powering on - seem about the same to me.

I had mine accidentaly left in stand-by for over a week and it still showed a fully loaded battery (I changed the battery before I forgot about the stand-by mode).
