Default fz38 (35) overexposure and questions.

I recently bought fz38, and I am still experimenting with it!
Some questions:
Is it prone to overexposure a bit? What is the clever way to overcome it? (by underexposing the shot?)
In playback mode, what the flashing white areas mean? (maybe overexposure?)
What the yellow histogram mean?
Any help is much appreciated!

Use the "joystick" next to the LCD and reduce the exposure to -1/3.

Histogram - page 63

Not sure I've seen flashing white areas before

Hi Kibaris,

The blinking black and white is indicating overexposed areas of the photo. Select "Highlight" from the set-up menu to turn it on or off. Page 32 in the user manual explains a little more about it.

I keep my FZ38 permanently set to an exposure compensation of -1/3.
I found myself having to do this from day one.

Pg 75 of the manual covers this setting in detail.
