When shooting from that Safari Bus do use a polarizing filter, if you have bright sunshine. However, if it is overcast and/or dull take the polarizer off the camera, because a poloraizer reduces the light be at least two F-stops.

Also for shooting through glass, set the camera to the Landscape Scene Mode and take your photos normally. And yes the filter set from Amazon will work fine.

Thanks Sarah, i will write that down. I have spent the day reading the links Clint sent and it is like taking a University course again but then again i am finding it hard going.
Ok about the filters too so will now order them and a 6 class SDHC card too.

on left is photo without the polariser, on right is with. see how there is no reflection of the window
