rotate the dial to SCN mode and select 'fireworks' from the options that popped up.

OP posted this so, which indicates that they did not use the 'fireworks' scene mode. That is why I am asking what the settings were. Also, were these shots handheld or, did you use a tri-pod?

Nice shots I really love the fourth in the second set reminds me of dandylions ready to blow.....
