I'd be even more impressed had you done that with the wasp sitting on the lens!

Then again, given how savagely those wasps sting, probably safer to be where you're at! Good shot.

I tried that with a spider but it didn't really work so how did you do it?

I don't what camera you have but, this was shot with a ZS-3. It was in auto/AF Macro mode. I put the camera to the glass and shot.

I don't have the FZ38 however, I'm sure it has a macro mode - the little flower-looking icon? Check your user's manual for "macro". Start on page 70.

the ZS3/TZ7 is like a compact version of the FZ35/38

How big is that wasp? looks pretty darn big!
