Default Poppy bud bugs

Took this one today and only cropped it for uploading. I didn't seethe bugs when i shot this. I think they are those little greefly things.
I will be wearing my card out soon, lol.

Hi eysha, what mode were you in? The exposure looks fine on this one but I think you were too close for normal mode and needed to be in macro. I've just discovered the Macro Zoom setting which gives great results on this type of shot. In your normal P-Mode, press and hold the button on the top that says AF/AF(flower)/MF on it and when the little menu appears, scroll down to Macro Zoom. You can then literally put the lens almost on the subject and still have it in perfect focus.

[Edit] yes, they're greenfly. I wonder if the opiates in the poppy sap have any sort of hallucinatory effect on them...

Thanks Martin, didn't know that and will try it tomorrow. i was in P mode and zoomed in a little. I am experimenting now and hoping that is the camera is going to develope a fault it will do it soon as i am using it so much.
Will do more tomorrow folling your suggestions and let you know.thanks for psoting and that information.

I just went out and took a similar shot and a much closer one using my FZ38 and the macro zoom. Just noticed I had the exposure at -1 but it hasn't caused any problems.

Wow, nice shots, and you took those using the AF/AF/MF button with the macro zoom? must try that. have written it down in camera my note book - thanks. I will be happy if i can do that, lol.
