Default Panosonic Worship

Posted: Sun Dec 14, 2003 6:40 pm Post subject: Panasonic worship

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Fellows:
Have read this forum extensively outlining the pros and cons of the Panasonic z1,z2,z10 cameras.
The outstanding info I have gleaned is the disrespect and disregard of the US consumer that Panasonic has indicated in their actions and marketing.
I am sure that a few companies suchas Kodak, Fuji, Canon, Olympus. Minolta, and several other companies have not exhibited this behavior.
I simply cannot see how so many of you fawn and worship Panasonic.
I am quite sure that Panasonic is not cornering the market with their product and behavior and the previously mentioned camera companies are fearful of losing their market share.
I for one would not buy a product ,even if it is the best value, from an organization or person tossing it to me with no back--up or sincerity in wanting my business.

Samodin

PS. Had to get this off my chest. What do you think?

"don't cut off your nose to spite your face" comes to mind. Though I may not like responses from Panasonic all the time, I don't take them personally. If enough demand is generated, can prove to be a marketing advantage and makes economic sense to Panasonic, I'm sure they will eventually implement it. I understand that a company cannot be all things to all people. All products have compromises. Had I found a better fit for my needs/budget I would have purchased it.

Samuel, I would have to agree with you on this one. I think that Panasonic is counting on one big feature of the FZ-10 and that is the 12x zoom. And even with this huge zoom , every photo I've seen out of the camera, without post processing has a great amount of purple fringing which for me would be unacceptable. It also appears that this camera while taking great photos outdoors, falls short on indoor photos, as seen by all the flash complaints, and if its cold outside you better bring a good point and shoot along because the FZ-10 fails in cold weather most of the time it cant focus very well at temps below 32 F .

Uhh... every photo?? Here's my FZ10 website check it out. Granted they have been resized, but I have not seen the problem even full size other than those with high contrast and I had that problem even with my UZI.

As for failing in cold weather the problems aren't limited to Panasonic. All cameras can have problems and it has more to do with the batteries.
