Scoobydude - I've been reading your post on DPR. Glad you got the FZ100. Mine is supposed to be here tomorrow. What are your first impressions?

I think the pic quality is within 95% of the FZ38 that I had before and then everything else is much better. The camera feels better to hold as it's slightly heavier and slightly bigger. The 11fps burst mode is awesome as is the 5 frames with auto focus, the flip out screen is fantastic, as you can see from the car shots you can get down very low or over head hight which is also great for video if someone is infront of you. I've read a few post on DPreview and set my camera to natural with -2 noise and -1 sharpness and it seems to be great for me. I dont pixilpeep but if I need to take noise out of a shot I would recomend 'NEAT IMAGE' its a free program and works very well. I just bought a Hoya PRO 1 digital circular PL filter which seems to work very well. The video from th FZ is fantastic and very smooth with the non manual zoom it can be held very steady. Panasonic have come up trumps again in my opinion

I think I tried Neat Image and the free version had limitations.

Clint,...are you getting your camera from Amazon? I have one on order but it looks like I may have to cancel. We're leaving for over a month in just a few days and I haven't heard a word from Amazon about delivery.

Oh well, my trusty FZ35 will do the job in Teton and Yellowstone just fine and I can get the new one before Little League season. My grandson and his teammates expect me to have the latest and greatest equipment.

Canceled from Amazon and ordered it from B&H - it should be here tomorrow. I'm surprised Amazon is slow on the release.

I'm looking forward to it.

Looks like JR has it at Amazon.
