Default So I've been away for a while and.. new FZ's

I hadn't been checking regularly and only recently discovered the FZ40/100 have been released. I can't say I'm impressed.

Unfortunately, the FZ40 doesn't offer the features I was hoping for on the FZ35's successor. The FZ100 does offer most of them, with caveats, but unfortunately the consensus of reviews so far is negative for IQ, especially at 200+ ISO.

The extra 4MP (over my FZ28) apparently introduces more noise than I was expecting as well.

I presume as long as the manufacturers remain determined to use the larger sensors only in their upscale 4/3 and DSLR models, we won't be seeing low-light/low-noise FZ models anytime soon -- unless a new type of small sensor is invented and implemented.
