Default Wild Thing

Wild Thing - you make my heart sing ===========anyone know the rest of the song???

Saddleback caterpillar - belongs to the family of slug caterpillars - I accidentally found his buddy on the other side of the leaf. Those spines are poisonous and will sting if you touch them. And yes - he stung me.

Plants are Creeping Jenny and Pitcher Plants

After a Canna Lily blooms it leaves these pods. They will turn brown and have seeds in them.

I think this is a very young Sphinx Moth larvae.

A Common Buckeye Butterfly

I think the green and blue caterpillar is a young sphinx moth larvae. The butterfly is a common Buckeye butterfly. Chinook???? the helicopter?
I hate getting stung by those. It's not the first time. Just the slightest touch by brushing and you get stung.

Fantastic pics , the butterfly shot is amazing and if you took your time you could actually count the hairs on that caterpillar.

Nothing special on this field trip - just the camera.
