I am really awed by the details in theses pics by the FX100. It was more of a roundabout way of complimenting you for some great pictures.

I will need technical documents to really see that the step up from the FZ35 TO FZ100 Isn't worth while.

I like full HD movies
I shoot mostly below ISO 400
I like the new high burst shooting
I like the thought of the new MOS sensor but see there may be issues with it.
I like the new focus button position
I'm not sure yet what the new JOG does.

I think with the FZ100 people are mostly paying for full HD and more advanced controls from what I have read today from other websites.

But at $500 you can also get a entry level DSLR at Walmart without the zoom.

Chris I have a Canon 7D and a 100mm Macro lens which I treasure and shoot sometimes...but the fun factor of the FZ100 is way up there as it is light....it has all the whistles and bells you could ever imagine....and it is blazing fast in Burst or Anti-Blur Mode...
Buy it from Amazon and use it for a couple of weeks to see if it is your cup of tea...then return it before the 30 day return limit if you are not happy...it is capable, but in certain situations the MOS Sensor will limit the IQ, in some situations it will be better than the CCD...if you look at the photos from the car show that VI Girl took you'll see when the MOS Sensor is looking/reflecting at something thats has a very high gloss it is superb...in cloudiness or shade it responds totally different I.E. the garden Spider shot in the shade...
The biggest culprit I am seeing with the 14Mp and the small sensor is camera movement/shake...there is no room for error as it will hurt the IQ greatly if any shake is in the image...

PS: the Garden Spider shots were taken at 7Mp with the FZ100

Thanks

Now did they increase the sensor size when they moved it up to 14 MP. Thats a key factor as we all know DSLR's use larger sensors .

I would look again at the spider pics but the quality of them makes it appear they are going to jump out of the screen at me.

I love snakes but not spiders.

No Chris it is still the 1/2.33 Sensor same as the FZ35 and FZ40...but being a CMOS I still don't understand if Panasonic uses only part of the sensor when you reduce Mp or part of the sensor...there will be some Firmware upgrade i am sure as the RAW photos are sharper than the Jpeg's so the the way the camera is producing Jpegs is the biggest problem it seems...thats a software issue that most likely can be sorted out...again I am not an expert, but an amateur enthusiast so take this with a grain of salt...I am betting it is going to surpass a few lower end DSLR's sooner than later...

for those needs under ISO 400 it should great for you. i like LT's idea of given it a try off Amazon with their return policy.
