Default Lens Cap Tether

I really don't like my lens cap dangling with the supplied "string".

And I didn't want to chance losing it with no attachment.

What to do?????

Velcro - love this stuff

First go buy some of this - I got mine from Lowe's

Next - I glued a piece of Velcro to the lens cap

Then I attached the "tie" to the strap

In the previous picture - notice how you can curl it up - out of the way.

Now it's attached - if it gets bumped and falls off(which happened to me on the beach - had to walk back and find it) it's still attached to the camera.

But if you're taking multiple shots of something and don't want the cap dangling around your hand - just remove it from the Velcro - put the cap in your pocket - curl up the "tie" if you want and snap away.

Seem to work pretty good so far for me.

At first read, I was sitting with the thought "OMG. That looks awful!". But...now that I think about it, it could look ok. and I like the flexibility where you can dangle the cap or easily remove it and hide the tether. If they come in colours, maybe.

It comes in gray also - and since I'm an "old geezer" looks come second.

That would work - I may modify my Panasonic "string" with a piece of velcro.

I bought 5-6 of those since I have many lenses I use with my m4/3 cameras. They work nicely.

How about just having the stock tether hook on the neck strap and slide the lens cap on the neck strap?
