Yeah I am (or used to be) a canon guy too.. but their cameras in the same level as the FZ35-100 seem to be much slower, which I don't like. I dont want to go SLR, and cameras from other companies don't seem to be much better either..

I like the lots of fucntionality they added to the FZ100.. I finally found a night shot from a FZ100 which looks pretty decent (although the low res can kind of hide a lot of stuff):

Here's one of the better comparisons

You can pick out the different camera and ISO settings

Thanks Clint.. the FZ35 pictures in the comparison are really better than the FZ100, a little more vivid and sharp.. (and SX20 loses to both, I would say).

My main concern, though, is real life usage, specially in low light conditions.. I'm not really looking for comparisons vs LZ35, just want to make sure that the quality is pretty good.. The camera is new, so its hard to find shots like that.. I was hoping some people here would have a few to share!

Thanks for the links!

You're welcome - I feel confidant that most users will agree that the FZ35 will have better IQ than the FZ100 - especially in low light. I think the CMOS sensor in the FZ100 is geared more towards video and burst shots.

You can always order one from Amazon and return it within 30 days if you don't like.
And the price is also falling on both the FZ40 and 100.

ESCOZ - I just uploaded some pictures taken with the flash in iA mode (your basic point and shoot). They were in my basement - low light - I had my propped on solid objects all the time.

See what you think - all SOOC - taken from about 6 feet to 3 feet.

Hey, they look pretty good, I think, kind of what I was expecting.. A few pics are out of focus, but that's not a big deal!

Thanks so much for the pictures, Clint! I feel more confident now in buying the camera!

Another question: what's the file size of a video recorded by the camera, lets say per minute? I'm trying to decide how big the card should be.. 16gb is plenty for pics, but may not be enough for videos..
