Default Protective sleeve for FZ10...

I don't like my tools with dings, scratches and nicks in'em. The last thing I made that worked well was a simple neoprene, wetsuit fabric sleeve. That departed yesterday with the Sony to a nice Texas lady in Norfolk who's got kids and never had a digital cam before...perfect for her.

This one is like an insulated, 'Tea Cozy' because I used 25mm insulating poly covered in Cordura with a duPont Reflectka interior fabric. One uses Microfiber and thinner foam, etc.

These are the first three mules I made while working on getting the fit right and futzing with materials. With the length of, and offset of, the lens barrel - it makes an interesting problem. I do not want the opening any larger than needed - as that side is left exposed.

Making a flap means you just have "another thing to open". I typically put the camera in the sleeve when it is out of the carry case, rather than put it down on the ground or elsewhere.

Anyway, the reason I mention it; the first three people who send me an email ([email protected]) will get one of the mules. It's better than throwing them in the trash, no?! Ya - no charge.

I know there's no way I'd know, but don't do it if you don't have an FZ10 - it best fits that body.

Cheers.

Default

Window closed as of Sunday, 11am (NY time) for the freebies. I'm up to sleeve version v.6.0 and will probabaly stop there...

Next project is a Sun cover. I like to leave a camera on a tripod, but do not like leaving it sitting in the Sun like a brick-on-a-stick.

Cheers.
