I don't think so. It's very close to the size and weight of the FZ40 & 100.

But I like the grip and feel of the FZ's a little better. The right side "grip" isn't as deep on the SX30 so it feels a little less secure to me.

First impressions
EVF is not nearly as good as the FZ's
It's noisy zooming compared to the FZ's.
The articulating LCD is nice but I liked the FZ100's a little better.
