Frank, did you get the bag yet? If so, how's the size for the FZ40? Thanks for everyone's replies, I appreciate the help!!

Mary's suggested bag is cute, but at 15" is too big for me.

Agreed. I have an old Canon Rebel (using actual film!), but stopped taking it places because carrying a big bag with lenses and doo dads was just too much of a pain in the butt. I just want a case that fits my camera and keeps it nice and safe!

Yes, I got it today. I have the FZ35 and it fits with a little room to spare. Looking at the interior dimensions, I am sure the FZ40 will fit just fine. I have tried a few and this is the one I like the most.

There is only room for the camera/spare battery/memory card. There is no room for the charger or lens hood.

The lens hood can fit easily if you invert it and put the lens in it.

I just bought an FZ40 and I need a camera bag but everything seems too small. My local Walmart had both the Lowepro Edit 110 and the Case Logic DSLR bag but they are both very cramped inside. I'm looking for a larger size that can carry my FZ40 and a few accessories.

But now have started using a back pack when I go hiking.

Just an update, I ordered the Case Logic DCB-304 case from Walmart.com and it arrived today. The FZ40 fits perfectly! Not too snug but secure enough to do the job and it even has a few extra pockets on the sides and inside underneath the front flap. I like that the case zips closed instead of using velcro. The only negative I could find was the shoulder strap which has plastic clips instead of metal. Seeing as I will carry it using the handle that isn't a deal breaker for me.

It was $17 shipped and for the money I don't think you'll find a better case. Just don't expect a roomy bag because there is only enough room for the camera and possibly the lens shroud on top. Of course batteries and SD cards will fit in the extra pockets.
