Default A trip to the Atlantic Ocean

These shots are not all top quality as my battery started running low just as I started so I was rushed for time.

I shot these in jpeg too to save power, I generally shoot raw so they come out better.

And then the battery died. The camera really struggled when the sun was in the picture or close to it.. I think next time I go there I'll go before noon. Its really bad shooting conditions in the late afternoon.

Jake, I think some of the beach shots are really nice! You should number your images so we can comment on them individually. I also really like the shots of planes taking off.

Looks like you had a fun day taking pics. My favorites are the airplane shots. I've been giving it a go taking pics of the small planes at the airport by me, and it "ain't easy" but it sure is fun.

More like 20 minutes if at that. I wish I had a spare battery or more battery life so I could have taken my sweet time but it was blinking on red. I turned off the lcd and switched to jpeg to conserve power since raw takes longer to save.

Also even though sharpness was only +1, I think all of these are oversharpened.

Actually it was neither, just go on woodhaven blvd towards far rockaway and after crossing the bridge on your immediate right following it is a parking lot for fishing enthusiasts. That is where I shot these, well within a 100 yards. 1 side faces JFK and the other side has the inlet from the Atlantic Ocean.
