Default Spare battery for Lumix FZ40

Clint, or anyone else using the FZ40 have you had any success in finding spare batteries? I emailed Panasonic and had no luck there.

Thanks,
mary

Has anyone tried these batteries? I love a bargain as much as the next guy but two for $35 seems too good to be true. That usually means it is.

After my experience with Sony (F717) and their proprietary Infolithium batteries, Im quite skeptical. Im betting that only Panasonic authorized batteries will work.

they put a microchips in there batteries. So the camera can read what brand of batteries it is. And the camera only allows panny batteries. So it can get a bit expensive going with OAM.

LTZ-

I sent an e-mail to the Chinese seller of the FZ-40 E-Bay battery, and he claims that his batteries are compatible, but he won't guarantee that the battery will work with the FZ-40. Buyer beware!
