Thank you everyone for your comments. Lots of practice needed here. I probably take anywhere from 5 to 15 shots of each subject to get one good one.....Makes it difficult for moving targets like the h-bird!!

Ajka - my distance to subjects are approximately as follows. And yes, I'm in telemacro mode, not macrozoom (which I think is digital zoom, looks terrible):

#1 - 4 feet
#2, #3, #5 - 18 inches
#4 - 2 inches

Hards80 - I agree with you that a cloudy day can produce very rich images.

Overcast days are good for close-up shots as you don't have to deal with real high contrast. However, for landscape shots it can be challenging. These are great pics BTW!

Thanks, I figure weather is one thing we have no control over, so I try to capture an image that makes best use of a given condition.
