Default Not a trick shot

I was awe-struck as I saw the span of the web this spider had woven - not very clear in the photo because of too bright a background - it had connected two trees some 6-7 feet apart and was hanging some 10-12 feet above ground, comfortably swinging in the breeze. The size of the spider itself was amazing - its body about two inches long and tip to toe, about one foot. I have never seen such a large spider or web. Unfortunately, I could not get better shots than these to show you the real spread.

Second one is a very good shot...wonder what kind? Pretty big. Wonder if he could catch a bird...referring to another posters pic of a bird in a spiders web...

Cool shots. I'm going to have nightmares about getting caught in that web (I really am terrified of spiders...).

Thanks for looking, Lisa and Saly. I have another shot of the spider, but not a favourable one. Taken from right below, sky right above us as the spider is facing us. You can see the pattern of the web where the tree trunk and leaves give you the contrast.
