Default My new fz40

Well, the fz35 I bought from Canada went missing in the mail - PayPal claim pending.

I ended up ordering an fz40 from Hong Kong - it arrived today, no time to do much with it so I thought I'd have a go at photographing dinner. Quite happy with the photo, apart from reflecting the light off the back of the plates - tried to fix that with GIMP but haven't been successful yet. Tried out a few Picasa effects - adding the blur seems to be par for the course with food photos.

Great shot mick, nice DOF.

Sorry to hear of the missing camera. How did you find the Hong Kong service ? Mine was rather quick, 4 or 5 days door to door from memory.

Hi Pat,

The Hong Kong thing went really well; about 6 days I think, great service and price

...and you'll eat all that!?!?

It just comes to show that P&S can produce shallow DoF. Nice picture!

Hi Tullio,

I "enhanced" the DOF with some PP blurring, although the untreated image still looked pretty good.

Cheers,
Mick
