Default LX5 Auto Lens Cap

Recently got a LX5. And saw there is an auto len cap for it. My question is how well does it work? Does it touch any part of the lens? Would it block any light going into the camera?

I am interested in this, too. Shortly after buying my LX3 when it came out, I found out about one of these that "sorta" worked with the LX3. It fit, but did not open all the way causing blockage of the edge of the photos at one of the extreme zoom ends. The solution was to use some padded tape to make the petals open farther.

Now there appears to be various brands available for the LX3 and LX5 (JCC, and a few others I have seen on Amazon). I would love to hear any suggestions if one brand is better than the other.

I may order one of each (one for my LX3, and the other for my LX5) and compare.

The design is that the soft plastic slits are pliable enough to push through the lens cover assembly.
