I am not sure what the thread size is for the fz38 adapter. But there are TC conversion lenses and Macro conversion lenses. The LT55 and TCON 17 are Teleconverters, giving you more reach.

For macro you will want to look at something like a canon 500D, 250D, or raynox 250 or 150

Thanks for the links. not sure about buying second hand though. I would if i was sure of where it cmae from. shame this forum didn't have a section for used/unwanted items would feel safer buying from real camera people.

Understood Eysha...I buy a lot of used items especially from reputable vendors like this...it seems they have a 99% rating and 178 deals made and they also comment that the condition is like new...most people will buy these and only use them a few times...I had my TCON 17 for 6 months before I ever stuck it on a FZ35...lol...

Lenses, you can check out pretty easily. With the simple conversion lenses you are looking at , just put it up to the light, check for blemished and scratch. And if you can take some photos with your camera, and check them out at home or zoom in very tight on the lcd. I picked up the canon 500D macro conversion lens for 56 dollars, new it is 80 dollars. It works just fine.

DSLR lenses are a little hard to check out, but I buy allot of used lenses.
