that is where a good return policy like amazon has comes into play. Or if there is a good shop that carries second hand. Used is a bit of a gamble. Not everyone is up for it.

Tele-converters and macro adapters work well on these FZ cameras (it has always done). However, they add a lot of bulkiness to the system and are not necessarily cheap.

I guess I should post a few on the Sony DSLR forum. Still in the learning mode but so far I like it.

Please, do. It's always good to see some real life results from new models.

I'm keeping the FZ35 - I think it's a great camera for the money.

But it has limitations. The Sony A33 has a bigger sensor (APS-C) and can take pictures in lower light at higher shutter speeds. It also has the articulated LCD that I want.

I tried the FZ40 - FZ100 - Fuji HS10 and Canon SX30. Out of all those I think the FZ40 took the best pictures for IQ when compared to the FZ35.

The Sony A33 and A55 can take pictures using ISO 1600 and 3200 which has great image IQ to my eyes.

However if you compare the cost to FZ35 it's about 3 times as much with good lens.
