Thanks for that.
Don't shoot me but i have been looking at DSLR's and like the look of the
SonyA290 @$486.57/304.99.
or the
Canon ESO 500D with 18-55mm IS lens kit @ $754.67/473.00
which is the better camera and why?

The A290 is not on par with most dslr on the market, is still uses a cdd sensor. So you are limited to 1600iso.

The canon 500D uses a cmos sensor. And can shoot well upto 3200iso and decent at 6400iso. So it is a much better low light dslr then the sony. Also the AF system on the canon is better, especially in low light. And is better for shooting action. In the entry market canon does lead the dslr market.

Other brand and model to check out is the pentax k-x, it is not to expensive. And is pretty good.

Hello all,

I would like to know if someone tested the the Raynox kit DCR 250 for the macro.
Well I think that the LC55 must be better but to start macro shot I think that this kit for the price is not too bad. I found some test on the FZ38 .

No the LC55 is not any better than the DCR 250...just easier to use and the DCR 250 can actually take some better/closer shots...

You can compare camera shots here with both cameras,

Thanks Clint, that was interesting. i did see a big difference in some of the makes of dslr's.
I am so torn between getting a dslr and just buying lenses for the fz38. i just don't know what to do. i have spent days looking at cameras and sites that help you learn how to us them better too but still cannot mak my mind up. The canon looks good but... How anyone chooses these days i just don't know, lol. there is so much on the market. i have to keep price in mind, now and for future lenses etc, as finances are limited for whatever i buy. I love and hate cameras, lol.
I can say that i am not interested in the video, never used the fz38video, but would like nice clear sharp photos. BTW do you know of any good sites that teach how to use the camera but in very easy terms, poor memory is my problem or maybe old age, lol..
