Thank you LTZ and geoper for your kind words. I think this is a good lesson on the importance of a good background for your subject. Here's a shot of the same duck, but not as dramatic because of the dull background:

Thank you Mallorie, I got started exactly the same way. Only 2 months ago, I purchased my FZ35 and, thanks to everyone on this forum, I'm slowly learning the tricks.
