Default Birding with ZS7 today...offshore...

This guy got tired and landed on our offshore rig for a rest...

Wow LTZ, great shots! The clarity of your little camera is simply amazing. What beautiful eyes this guy has. How close were you able to get?

And, THIS is the reason I got the ZS-7 for my take-anywhere camera. Consistently excellent images. Nice shootin', dood!

Thanks for the kind remarks...

Gary I thought you had the ZS3 down pat...I have mentioned your Church Performance shots many times as they were awesome for a P&S! and I borrowed your on the knees trick...lol...

Saly I was able to eventually get within one foot, but he attacked me and bit my finger! Lol! Testy little varmit he was...they fly out here for hours and they can't land on the water like the seagulls...so they rest on the platforms...

Ha! An FZ + TCON17 would have protected you! Do you know what kind of bird this is? Some sort of a rail?

You were spot on Saly! It's an African Water Rail...we still don't quite understand the red eyes and the orange ring of skin around the eye?
