Default The Camera Bag Question

My Camera bag does multiple duties. It is my purse, as well as my camera bag. I use the Case Logic PSL46 model that measures 9" wide X 4.5" front to back X 7.5" tall.

In that space I carry all my purse requirements, my Canon SD4000, my Canon G11, my Panasonic FZ40, my cell phone, a Canon EX-270 external flash a UV filter, a spare battery, and spare SD cards. And it is still small, not easily identified specifically as a camera bag, and the bag is not heavy and is easily carried.

Here is how it looks with the top flap open:

I use a small LowePro bag; that houses my Fiji & my FZ40; along with a short compact tripod with extendible feet in the main compartment. It has a zippered mesh enclosure on the inside of the lid where I keep my lens cleaning supplies.

It has a front zippered compartment that I use for instructions, tips, etc.

It definitely looks "camera bagy", but works well for me.

I have yet to find a system that completely frees my hands, yet not too bulky. I'm seriously thinking about looking into a vest (a photographer's or a fisherman's). My big problem is the mono/tri-pod. It just won't fit into anything, and it usually ends up staying in the car.....

Saly-

You are so correct. A tripod or monopod takes forethought and follow through to consistently use it.

As for me, I am not the vest type

I use the braun asmara compact 300 its designed for camcorders but it fits the fz35 and i liked it because its compact and i can take it with me even if i go out. When i need to take a lot of things i get a backpack and i put my tripod in and anything else needed.

That Braun Asmara Compact 300 is a pretty good sized bag.

Just discovering this thread now.
I ended up buying the LowePro Edit 120 bag for my FZ35; pretty much the same dimensions as Sarah's above. Around $20 shipped with Amazon Prime

Yeah its a nice size but it only fits the camera maybe some cleaning cloth and then little stuff in the side pockets. But it is good for what i need it and it turned out to be very useful.
