FZ40 Sunset

1 Attachment(s)
Tonight we had a really beautiful sunset. I did not have time to chase down the Sunset Scene Mode, as the sun was already below the horizon. So I set it up manually using Exposure Compensation.

While the sun was below the horizon, there was still enough "back glow" to illuminate the sky, which I managed to capture. I hope you like it. The FZ40 continues to please and amaze me.

Following Mark's request, I am imbedding the photo.

Great colours in the sunset!

Nice, Sarah. Personally, I don't like the "Sunset" mode. I get better colors in standard P mode, and it gives me more flexibility.

I like the orange in the back, maybe if it was a little more bright it would be better?

Gorgeous colors! What a beautiful shot!

Thanks Carol-

I looked out the window and saw that the sun was already below the horizon, but the sky was still a great indigo blue. So I grabbed the FZ40 and went out on the deck.

Beautiful sunset!

Thanks geoper and dropmyload-

I am glad that you enjoyed the sunset photo.

Note to geoper-

No, personally I like the brightness of the colors just the way they are. Photos should have a reasonable degree of realism to them as well. You will notice that the sun itself is totally out of sight. To brighten the sky above the horizon, would not look realistic considering the conditions.
