Default Remote shutter release for the FZ40??

It doesn't appear that the FZ40 has provisions for a remote shutter release... I wish I'd have realized that... could have been a deal breaker for me.... NAAAWWW, probably not, hahaha!
Could anyone confirm that there indeed is no provision to accept a remote shutter release for this camera??? One company online indicates the Panasonic DMW-RSL1 will work with the FZ40, but I see no place for it to plug into the camera.. I think they made a mistake. Correct???
Thanks!

Hi Wes,

I don't believe there's any provision for a remote release. But there's a really good self-timer that is easily engaged for 2 or 10 seconds - useful for most applications where the camera needs to remain steady (but obviously not action shots etc.).

Check here

down about half way

But I think you are right - where does it connect - you might call Video Direct and ask them.

Clint-
That's the ad I found that made me wonder... but it appears to have an 1/8" or similar plug, and there is no such jack on the camera... so I think they're mistaken.

Wes

I agree - I think it's wrong - I don't have my FZ40 anymore but I still have the PDF manual and I could find nothing about a remote shutter release - just the timers.
