Default FZ10 teleconverter?

http://www.horsepowerheaven.com/features_all/2003features/xmas03cameras/FZ!-2.jpg

This is supposed to be a picture of the teleconverter for the FZ10 that brings the top end up to 630 mm. I want one. Badly. Where can I get one, and if it's not being sold, when will it come out?

Looks like the Panasonic 1.5X. It is only available in Japan. Last time I checked it was over $400 when converted from yen to US$.

Buy the Olympus Tcon 1.7 for $100 from JandR electronics and a 72-55mm stepdown ring for about $14.

714mm with the Olympus.

And you're officially amazing. Thank you!

Will I still be able to zoom and use autofocus with this setup?

Does anyone else have ideas? I'm really excited about the possibility of getting such insane reach out of this camera.

If you notice deep in the menu, there is a setting for teleconverters. If you turn this on, your zoom is limited to 6x-12x optical. This prevents viginetting which will occur from wide to 6X. You don't have to turn it on, I don't bother.

Here is a good place to get stepdown rings. I was happy with the product and the service.
72-55 rings -> http://www.cameragear.com/rings5.asp

The only thing about the Panasonic teleconverter is it doesn't need a step down ring and I've heard that the space between the two Panasonic lenses (FZ10 and Tcon) is less.

Does space between lenses matter?
