Default Newbie with macro lens test shots

Zos newbie again. I started playing with my macro lens and thought I would post some newbie shots. I can't be certain I had my macro setting correct no that I look back. I found a dead spider in the corner and got excited to set him up on a tissue. Other mundane shots as well... and what's my post without another cat shot?

why did these end up horrible after posting? I think I am doing something wrong in translation. The originals look 10 times clearer on my pc.

Zos-

Posting directly does have some glitches. Photos tend to turn out softer and brighter. Over all you photos look good and you have made an excellent beginning. These are a bit overexposed, so you might want to us some negative Exposure Compensation.

If you are "converting" them to a smaller size the software may also be "compressing" them into a smaller file and making "noise" more apparent.

Have you tried using Picasa? You can upload to a "web album" and just drag and drop the pictures into your posting.

dryspuri-

The system is not perfect, but it does allow us to post and share photos, and that is positive.Clint has also posted a good suggestion about using Picasa which might produce better results.

If the size of your images is greater than 244Kb, then the site will compress them severely and they will look bad. So, check the size of the original pictures you uploaded and either re-size them to get as close to 244Kb as possible (you can easily do that in Picasa) and then re-post them (you can actually replace the existing ones), or upload them to a hosting site such as Flickr and then post the pictures by clicking on the Insert Image icon and pasting the URLs from the hosting site.

Nothing wrong with those images, and if they do look 10 times better/clearer then they must look amazing.....
