Does any one know if their is a remote shutter release available for the FZ40/45....

I don't believe there is one. If you do a search on the forum I think that was discussed but I forget most of the details. I don't think there is a place to plug one in on the FZ40.

No, there isn't one for the FZ. One of the reasons why I got the GF1.

If you are shooting something that doesn't move quickly, you can try the self timer to avoid camera movement.
