You did well under the conditions. I think the brighter the light will help also a tripod/monopod always helps but difficult to use where birds are concerned. Thanks for sharing

Yes, the conversion option is the one to go for - you should get a choice of telephoto or closeup in the menu. Change the camera to this option before you put the lenses on, otherwise it tends to knock the focus right out and you have to turn off, take the lenses etc off and start again........... I learnt from my mistake.

That's as good as it gets with the TCON-17. Becareful of comparing it with a $1000 DSLR zoom lens.

Your pics are very nice and have probably taken the TCON to its maximum potential..

In your opinion, what gives better results, FZ40/45 together with a TCON or DWM-LT55? Are there any pictures to compare both lenses?

Cheers,

Stefan

Thanks a lot for the link. It seems, that the TCON-17 has the best price versus performance index. Could it be mounted easily to the FZ40/45 using the DWM-LA5C or is any modification necessary?

Cheers,

Stefan

no modifacation needed for tcon with adapter ,screws straight on ..
only nikons need additional adapters or tc-15ed can be cut down with 55mm adapter glued on

Thanks, for all the support.

I am wondering how the TCON-17 is mounted to the DWM-LA5E, since the DWM-LA5E has the thread inside and the TCON-17 must have it also inside, because on pix of the TCON-17 there is no thread visible?
