If you order form amazon, you can order a couple and return the ones you do not like.

I have recently bought a Vanguard Tracker AP-324 and I am very content with it. Its a solid and rather big monopod, but then my camera (Nikon D300s) is quite substantial.

http://www.amazon.com/Vanguard-TRACK.../dp/B000YH89PC

This monopod has some interesting details I have not seen on others, specially the adjustable rubber-foot with buildt in spike in its center and the one-twist-grip wher you loosen all 3 lock-nuts at once. The diameter of the rubber-foot is quite generous, giving good support.

Check the details:

Someone her mentioned "...buy carbon-fiber and not aluminum, because of the cold. That's ok if you have money to blow, but my aluminum-pole has pretty hefty "leg-warmers" around the top-section. And I can tell you that it is cold in Norway. I have no problem with that, what so ever!

:^)

"...many companies have cheaper CF Monopods out now so the selection is good..."

Same price as the Aluminum: CF25 Flashpoint Monopod...
