eysha, picturenaut is free HDR software (high dynamic range). It is a bit different from other HDR software in that it tends to produce fairly realistic-looking photos (doesn't create the "surreal" look so much). You take a set of photos at varying exposures and it aligns them and then you select a "tone mapping" algorithm and it does further processing.

The cloud pictures were each processed from a pair of images. They came out with a more "three dimensional" look than the original exposures had.
