Default video capture programme?

I have been told that when you make a video on the Pan35 there are programmes where you can capture just one shot/section/photo. Can anyone recommend a programme to do this please.

eysha, as I posted earlier today I captured some lightning on video and extracted a frame.

I believe I downloaded VideoPad video editor to do that, although I can't remember exactly what was involved.

I think you're asking about capturing a photo/image from a movie/video file. For this install VLC Player. Play a video. Go to pull down menu Video and then click snapshot whenever you want a image from movie. You can also do the same by pausing the video

Default video capture programme?

I play a lot of video games on my computer and would like to record some footage to put on You tube or share with some friends. I have tried Raps, but have noticed that it makes my games lag and the video quality could be better. Can someone recommend a good free video recording program for me? Please also give a reason why it is good. Thanks.
