Default Non German firmware for the FZ40/45

Hi,

I am wondering if it would be possible to get a non German firmware for the FZ40/45 to overcome the restriction by video to 29.9 minutes due to German law? Any ideas, thoughts?

Cheers,

Stefan

I don't think it will work.

If you google movie time restriction, it says that if the recording time exceeds 30 minutes then the EU wants 14% tax added to the price. It then goes on to say that if the manufacture has allowed the camera to be upgraded via firmware (that overcomes the restriction) then the manufacture has to pay the tax instead of the consumer, i.e. the price the camera is sold to the retailer has to be 14% more.

It would be nice to know though....
