Default Yesterday's FZ-40 outing...

Yesterday, my wife & I went to a nearby park here in NE Florida- Hanna Park... and I shot some pictures. Here's some of the better- or more interesting ones...

Default Do not feed the alligators!

We learned that the sign "Do Not Feed The Alligators" was there for a reason! In my 30+ years in Florida, this is the first time I've seen one in the wild...

Lastly, I experimented with a few bracketed shots- and processed them in Photomatix... I'm convinced, I'm paying for the program- to get rid of the watermarks! A great deal of fun to play with!!

Default HDR fun...

She thought I was a little strange when I set up my tripod to take a picture of a palm tree trunk and some palmetto fronds....
Going to the Photomatix site now to upgrade...

I've only visited Florida 2 or 3 times, to Kennedy Space Center on business, and gators were all over the place...I guess I was lucky..?

Nice shots.

Great detail in the first photo

Photomatrix sure puts a different slant on HDR compared to Picturenaut, more dreamscape, and effective with the correct image source

Default First photo...

The first photo- the Pelican- was taken from a distance of only probably 50 feet, with no cropping required. The others were taken at a lot greater distances, especially the Anhinga was off at a lot longer distance, and had to be cropped quite a bit.
I'm anxious to play with Photomatix more... the settings were pretty much maxed on these pic's, just seeing what kind of artsy things I could do with it.

Hi Wes - loving the first shot of the pelican, just superb. Do you remeber what mode you were in and what the settings were?? What does the sign say that he is perched on?? Does it say No Fishing !!! heee. You are lucky that you have such a variety of animals near you.
