Default FZ40 Settings

I have not yet made the time to really experiment with the picture adjustment and white balance settings for my FZ40 yet. Although I do intend to, I am looking for some personal opinions on what people think the best overall settings are, mainly in the pic adj area, as I know WB settings vary depending on the situation. All opinions are welcome, and please feel free to include examples. Not trying to steal any ideas, just looking for feedback and suggestions. Thanks.

Here's a B&W pic of my dog looking sad, just so we have something to look at.

That's a very effective B&W, Craig-

Contrast +1
Sharpness +2
Saturation 0
Noise Reduction +2

I have an FZ35, but my settings are: contrast +1, saturation 0, sharpness +1, noise reduction -1

Very nice shot of the dog, BTW!

Yes, higher the noise reduction, less sharpness. So you want less noise reduction to keep your image sharper.
